The Gemmological Association of Australia is Australia’s long established gemmological educator. As part of a continued effort to provide the public, media and industry members with useful information about their education programs and reach audiences within the gem and jewellery industry, the GAA periodically advertises in publications including Jeweller Magazine, Jewellery World and the Australian Gemmologist.
GAA sought to promote the brand, create interest in the Diploma course and increase enquiries and enrolments. After discussions with the client we knew it was important to develop an ad with a point of difference enabling it to stand apart from the usual content found in the publication selected for advertisement.
To create interest and to rouse the audience to both the beauty and scientific elements of gemmology we focused on projecting a strong technical look combining beautiful blue lace agate supplied by gemmologist Grant Pearson with angular shapes building a composition using a grid system that utilises exact positioning of elements (type & imagery) to clearly and directly deliver the message. The level of sophistication displayed here will be noticed.
