Brief
The Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) course provides training to advanced surgical trainees and consultant surgeons to improve their decision-making and technical skills in the treatment of major trauma patients.
The website needed to streamline, centralise and standardise communication and administration across courses. This would include a single location for registration for all DSTC Australasia courses, the capability to keep one space up-to-date, provide answers to FAQs, and provide access to course materials and details.
Solution
Utilising WordPress we created a custom theme for DSTC bringing the course and location information together so participants could easily navigate through the course content, schedule and locations. Participant types, location, courses, course add-ons, and cost variations were integrated to form the registration process for all of Australasia.
Restricted areas for both participants and course faculty provides secure access to pre-learning materials and resources while supporting the requirement that the site acts as the central point of communication for prospective participants, registered participants and course faculty.
Impact Result
The DSTC website now provides a central point for communicating with prospective participants, registered participants and course faculty, results include an increase in productivity and cohesiveness across all sites. Initial feedback from Melbourne has shown courses sold out 2 months prior to closing.
